If you are planning a flight to Atlanta, you may need a guide to Atlanta restaurants so that you know the places to visit while in the area.  The options are many and varied, so you can find something to sate just about any desire.

The Table 1280 Restaurant, located at the High Museum, is decorated in minimalist tones, with stark white walls and sleek hardwood dining rooms.  The east room contains reflective silver domes, with the west wing full of neon lights.  The menu changes daily, but offers every day favorites like chargrilled steak and frites for the non-adventurous.  The market fish is typically a whole roasted whitefish, which is also a good bet.

  


  


Another distinct Atlanta restaurant is the Taurus, a chophouse located in midtown.  This eatery boasts sweeping curtains and a deep red interior.  Meats and seafood are the pride of Chef Gary Mennie, and starters like corn chowder and crab fritters are an excellent way to whet the appetite.

The Spoon is an Atlanta restaurant off Marietta Street that has been converted from Thelma’s Kitchen into an urban cafe with red tables and hardwood floors.  Exposed pipes give the restaurant a modern industrial feel.  The Thai cuisine is excellent, with choices varying in degree of spice, including such dishes as massaman yellow curry, basil stir-fry, and red snapper.

With dishes inspired by Mediterranean, Italian, and Asian flavors, one favorite Atlanta restaurant is the Mix Lounge and Restaurant.  A great after-dark scene, the Mix offers a great lemon martini, to be enjoyed with or without the fine flavors of dishes such as sweet-hot saline oysters, or fork-tender braised pork with barbecue flavor and melted fontina.  Also try the grilled Italian bleu cheese sandwich with proscuitto.  A dessert favorite is Nutella, much like S’mores.

With so many choices of cuisine, you may want to sample all of Atlanta’s restaurants.  If you do, you’re sure to pick out more than one favorite.
